 the second night in, kameel took me, in his crajjy DEE-luxe mazda 929 from 1979 (!!), to the hotel normandie to check out this 'kings and queens' show -no, not anything to do with those 'people of alternative sexual orientation' - these were the best performers of calypso music the country has to offer! only $15CAD per person - pictured here is denyse richards; she gets pretty excited - started picking people outta their seats (only a couple hundred of port of spain's elites seated nicely under trees and such) and dan singh on their chairs!

 performer: shadow - reportedly over 70 yrs old, his dance moves were stylishly comprised of walking in circles to his song 'round the bend' great suit, eh?. |
oh, and
on my first night i just sat around with kameel and drank rum. like
pirates we were, swash-buckling etc, but too tired from the flight in to go
searching for booty :)
